The plastic pallet is a logistics unit used with forklifts, shelves, and other logistics equipment. It can be used to store, load, and transport goods, and is one of the essential logistics equipment in modern logistics warehousing. So where do we start to choose the plastic pallet that suits our products?

First, what size plastic pallet to choose

Due to the different industries, the outer packaging size of the product is different, and the supporting pallet size is also very different. For example, the carton of cigarettes can be neatly stacked on a pallet of 1250×1000mm, while the general size of the automobile industry is 1200×1000mm.

Here, I would like to focus on recommending 1200mm×1000mm and 1100×1100 (mm). The use of these two pallets covers nearly 50% of the package sizes on the market. Taking into account the advantages of sharing pallets, it is recommended that 1200×1000 pallets be preferred when the packaging size is not very different.

Second, how much load do you require?

To make it clear that multiple goods are placed on the pallet, the structures of the pallets corresponding to different carriers are different. Pallets are available in light, medium and heavy duty. The cargo on the light-duty plastic pallet is lighter, less than 300kg; the cargo on the medium-duty plastic pallet is 300~800kg; the load over 800kg generally needs to choose a heavy-duty plastic pallet, and special requirements need to be added steel pipe to the plastic pallet.

Third, single-sided or double-sided plastic pallets

The single-sided plastic pallet has only one bearing surface for placing goods, and the other surface is used for supporting handling equipment. Standard single-sided plastic pallets include 3 runners plastic pallets, Full Perimeter plastic pallets, and 9 feet plastic pallets; double-sided pallets can place goods on both bearing surfaces, and the handling tools enter the forks from between the bearing surfaces. The multi-layer stacking of double-sided pallets is stable, and the multi-layer stacking of single-sided pallets is less stable.

Fourth, grid or flat plastic pallet

The advantages of grid deck plastic pallets are ventilation, dust leakage, light and non-slip, and are widely used in all walks of life. Smooth deck plastic pallets are easy to clean and are commonly used in food, medicine, and other industries with high hygiene requirements. For the same size and load of plastic pallets, the flat ones are more expensive than the grid ones.
